Well here we are at 14 months. This post is a bit late, but this boy has kept me busy, as you'll see in a minute. Every mom seems to tell me that each stage is so fun, and it really is true to me. Here are Porter's tricks this month:
- He is exclusively walking. No more crawling for this boy!
- He is still constantly babbling. His new favorite word is some word he made up for "shoe." He pronounces it, "Es." Every time we say shoe, he says, "Es." Ok.
- Picks up all his bath toys each night when I tell him to.
- When I ask him if he is ready for a snack/meal, he always says, "MMMmmm." Also, we eat dinner at church every Wednesday night. When we get out of the car, he starts saying, "MMMmmm," and continues until we sit down to eat. Very much like Pavlov's dogs.
- After each drink he takes, he opens his mouth and says, "Ahhh." As if he is so satisfied. He does this to make us laugh, and we do every time.
- Says "Ruff," with every single dog he sees or hears. It doesn't matter if it is in books, on tv, or while we are out walking.
- Still loves to dance. He prefers for us to dance and clap along with him.
- Favorite foods are still bread, cheese, and fruit...and of course his milk.
- Loves to pick things up and hand them to me.
- Points to ears, nose, eyes, mouth, etc wanting me to say the name. He can point to his own ear and nose. He's very proud of this trick.
- Knows that cows "moo", sheep "baa", and dogs go "ruff."
- Loves to play ball, and says ball every time he sees one.
- Favorite things in the entire world: outside and dogs. That's all he needs in life to be happy. So the best day in the world to him is playing outside with Hank.
- Loves to swing outside.
- Loves to play with his new water table outside. He walks around on the patio with the little ball and bucket from the table and thinks he is cool stuff.
- Has starting testing the limits some. For example, swinging on a floor lamp, playing in Hank's water bowl, etc. So we are working through that still. He's gotten a couple of "stern no's" and spankings so far (go ahead and judge).
- Just started a little shy act. He occasionally will bat his eyelashes when someone comes up to talk to him, and sometimes hides his head. Then he snaps out of it and is his normal, outgoing self again.
- Is sort of going through a little separation anxiety. It lasts a whole 2 seconds. I guess if that is all he has, we are lucky. I blame it on his extraverted-ness....where ever that came from.
- Still refuses to fall asleep until he is alone in his room and in his crib. He will rarely fall asleep on me before I put him down. He's afraid he's going to miss something!
The one good shot. The rest went something like this...
The boy is BUSY.
What a goofball! He keeps us laughing all day!
Lots of Love,
Beth
