I'm Back

Once upon a time, I was creative.  I painted, decorated, doodled, and was crafty.  I loved it.  Then along came grad school.  In the name of pediatric healthcare, I put my creative juices on hold, and it was sad.  I longed to be creative again.  Finally, I'm back.  I once again have time to be creative.  I am a new member and addict of Pinterest, which is the greatest site EVER for people like me.  Check it out at pinterest.com if you are curious.  I also stalk interior design blogs in an effort to gain ideas.  So, armed with tons of ideas, my BFF Jen and I hit the flea market a couple Fridays ago.  You can check out her great blog, full of designs inspirations and their adoption story, here.  We were looking for items to make our creative ideas reality, while sticking with our budgets.  And we definitely found lots!
Here was my stash.  2 old frames, which you won't recognize when I'm done with them.  1 cute little blue table to go next to a chair in the den.  And a $30 twin bed.  That's right, $30.  It will soon be transformed into a porch swing for our little front porch.  I can't wait!!!  Stay tuned...

But before I can get to that, I am painting a design on the hallway wall leading to the master bedroom.  Here was my inspiration:

I started a few days ago, and I have made it about 4 feet down the hall.  It is going to take quite a while!  Check out the blog, jonesdesigncompany.com for the tutorial and template that I'm using!

And that's it for now!  I guess no post would be complete without Porter, though.  So here he is.  This picture is reason # 2398 why I'm glad he's our baby.  This face is his first look at Jonathan when he got home from work the other day.  Be still my heart.

  1. Thanks for the shout-out friend! I can't wait to see your hallway! You didn't tell me that! I'm sure it's looking fabulous! If you're free Friday, I'll come check it out!

P.S. At the beginning of this post when you said you "painted, decorated, doodled, and was crafty", I definitely thought you said "drooled." I was like, WHAT? Hahaha!
