15 Months

I'm so behind on this 15 month post, so I thought I should go ahead and post it since he's almost 16 months now.  I just now took his picture today, and it was quite a difficult task.  Also, I didn't realize what a farmer's tan he had until I looked at this picture!

He looks totally over taking pictures...

Here's what the Port is up to at 15 months:
- A vocabulary EXPLOSION!  He says a LOT of words now, such as: water, light, da-da (his word for dad and duck), what's that, diaper, uh-oh, ball, shoe (still pronounced "es"), fish, and occasionally ma-ma.  Occasionally.
- Knows what a dog, cat, horse, sheep, cow, and dinosaur say.  The dinosaur says, "Raur," and it's pretty hilarious.
- Points at everything, and especially people he wants to talk to.
- Is a picky eater, and has the typical toddler food jags.  It's driving me crazy, because one minute something is his favorite food, and the next minute, he refuses to touch it.  Meals have become quite complicated.  I used to think that parents made their children picky, but that is definitely not the case, since I fed him every baby food known to man, and he ate it.  Currently, his favorite foods are string cheese, strawberries, blueberries, and goldfish.  That may all change by tomorrow.
- LOVES milk.
- Takes one 2-3 hour nap every day.
- Gets up around 7:30-8:00 every day.
- Walks around the house and plays by himself a lot now, and is becoming more independent.
- Loves water.  He'll put his face in the pool and bath tub, with no problem at all.
- Loves his Hankie Boy.  He cracks up at Hank, and every now and then will walk over to him and pat him on the back.  Hank likes to keep an eye out on Porter too.  One of Port's favorite things to do is run to Hank's bed and do a belly flop on it.
- Notices his little friends at church now, and likes to give them things (toys, food, etc.).
- Blows kisses, gives high-fives, and "head bumps" now.
- I gave his hair the first trim last night!  I only cut a little bit off the back, because he seriously had a mullet.  I realized yesterday that his hair could fit into a pony tail, and that it was probably time for a tiny trim.  It looks extremely cute now, but also made me sad!
- Still just has the 8 teeth (4 uppers, 4 lowers).  I'm waiting on some new ones to pop through.
- At his 15 month check-up, he weighed 23 pounds 4 ounces (30th percentile) and was 31 1/4 inches (50th percentile).

He cracks us up every single day!  He's just a funny little boy, and loves to make us laugh.  I think he'll keep that up his whole life.  He is quite the entertainer!  More blog catching up to come...

Lots of Love,
Beth
