Sigh...

The month of August has been a whirlwind for me.  Each Friday night, I say, "Thank goodness that week is over," only to find that the weirdness continues.  Port Port has had a series of toddler illnesses this month, and we're about over it.  It went something like this:
  • July 20 - hand, foot, and mouth disease (2nd time this summer...bizarre)
  • August 1 (Jonathan's birthday) - stomach virus. In the car.  Enough said.
  • August 6 (my birthday) - Port's illness is just resolving, Jonathan gets stomach bug.
  • August 10 - Porter gets cold.
  • August 12 - Jonathan and I get the cold.
  • August 15 - 18 month check up at doctor, 1 shot given, low-grade fever results.
Really.  I'm ready to be healthy again.  We've been stuck at home the past several weekends, so we were thrilled when, tonight, Port was healthy again and we went to Moe's and Target!  What a great way to spend a Friday night!  Porter thought so too.  He was happy as could be, eating all his dinner and got a cookie.

But despite the toddler illnesses, we've made the best of it.  This is on my birthday...approximately 1 hour before Jonathan's 12 pound weight loss illness took place.  I have no idea how I avoided catching that one.

And Port and I have gotten in some good cuddling time.  This was us watching Sesame Street one morning.  Don't let his chubby appearance fool you in this picture.  He hasn't put on any pounds since May thanks to being sick.

That's about all for now.  I'll post his 18 month pictures in the next few days.  We've got a busy weekend ahead, though, with 2 birthday parties!

Lots of Love,
Beth
