Holiday Weekend at the Lake

I'm just now getting around to blogging about it, but we spent 4 nights at the lake for an extended July 4th weekend celebration.  BeaBea, Pops, "Unple Brwian" (Brian) and "Leava" (Olivia) all were there, and the ole Port Port had the time of his life.  It rained the ENTIRE time we were there (this is not an exaggeration), until a couple hours before we went home.  Then the sun came out.  Figures.  We still had a great time.  We still got out on the boat some, in the rain, and Porter was obsessed with it.  He would probably ride in the boat all day long.  And since no one was out on the water due to the showers, we even let him go on a slow tube ride with Jonathan.  I wasn't sure how he would react when the boat started going, but his smile and laugh were just priceless.  He loved it!  We also got to play lots of games, sleep, and eat...so it was definitely a great vacation!

Sparklers!!! We had our own very small fireworks display put on by Jonathan and Brian.  It was quite the show.

We went into a little town called Cowan and ate dinner, and they have an old train depot with some engines.  This engine's name was Porter!

Griffin and Uncle Brian. We have finally discovered the key to keeping Griff happy is to have him turned around like this so he can see everything.  Even at 2 months old, this kid is nosy and needs to see everything!

And just before leaving, the sun came out.  So we had some great swim time then.  Porter absolutely loved jumping off this float, and did it approximately 542 times, and has slept 12 hours every night since then.

Is it time to go back yet?

**Disclaimers** - It was not thundering/lightening while we were boating with our child.  Porter wore his life vest at all times.  Griffin did not go on the boat.  And Porter had his hand protected with a solo cup while playing with the sparklers (supervised).  Didn't want you thinking I was an irresponsible mommy/pediatric NP.  :)
