An Update and Easter Weekend

I haven't let you know about the latest with the hound dog.  If you recall, Hank tore his ACL at the beginning of February.  In case you missed it, you can read about it here.  It was a long, long recovery process that included a cone head, chewing out stitches, and being resedated.  It was not pretty.  When all that happened, they explained to us he is at risk for tearing the other leg's ACL, because he is putting more weight on it.  They said that as he starts to feel better, he will think he can go back to his normal, crazy self, but we will have to be very careful so he won't injure the other leg.  So we have been SO careful.  Leash walking, no running in the yard, and no playing outside with Port Port.  He has been in depression about being left in the house, but oh well.  Well, after one chasing of his tail, he's torn the OTHER ONE! So, he's having another surgery on Wednesday.  They don't offer discounts on the 2nd ACL repair either.  I asked.  Pray for us as we battle the cone head again. :)

Aside from the limping Hanky, we had a fantastic, low-key, stress-free Easter weekend.  It was beautiful weather, and we got to hang out with some family and friends.  Jonathan makes fun of me, because as each holiday rolls around, I proclaim how I love that holiday and it is in my top favorites.  But I DO love Easter!  Here's how we spent it:

Friday, Port and I went to check out the bunnies at Phillip's Toy Mart after work.  He smiled so big the whole time.

Saturday, we went to Lowe's and then planted flowers on our front porch.  Porter stayed outside with us the whole time and loved every second.  I think he ate dirt once.  Oops.

Sunday morning, the Easter bunny had left some loot.  This was his first reaction...amazement.  Yes, he walked to his Easter basket.

Checking out his goodies from the Easter bunny.  He got the water table behind him for some fun splashing on the patio this summer!

Hey mom, an egg!

Family shot after church

Bea Bea and Pops went to Graceland and brought back these cool shades.  Thank you, thank you very much.

With Bea Bea...a very serious face here.

Learning how to egg hunt.  He toddled around on the patio like a big boy picking up eggs.

Hunting some eggs....in his Master's outfit.  Pops brought this back for him last year.  And he also brought him a replacement this year, because this one is about to bust a snap.

This was as he was saying, "Bubble."  New word for the day.

Here's another new word.  Pops taught him to count.  So far, he's only made it to 1.  But it's really adorable.  He holds up one finger and says, "uhn."  I'm sure he'll never do it again, since he doesn't like to show off.

Happy boy!!!  He pretty much smiled the whole weekend.

We hope that you all had a great Easter too, full of relaxing and sunshine like ours.
Lots of Love,
Beth
