We took Port to Disney last week. BEST TRIP EVER. It was great: perfect weather, happy boy, no crowds, great food, and tons of fun! Porter was in awe of everything, and it was so fun to see it all through his eyes. I better just show you the pictures...(but please ignore my puffiness. I retain more fluid while pregnant than anyone I know.)
Our first day we went to Animal Kingdom.
Here we are on the safari. Porter saw an animal and was gasping at it, then just happened to look at the camera. So this picture was perfect timing!
Went to the petting zoo area. He refused to pet the goats, but decided that this furry pig-like animal was ok to pet. Beats me. I think he thought it looked like Hank lying on his side!
Watching the Lion King show. This was seriously the best show down there! We walked up right as it was starting, and they said they weren't sure if there were seats left. But they ended up having seats, and led us to the front row! It was amazing...as you can tell from those big blue eyes.
After walking out of Lion King, we happened to see Mickey! He was about to leave for the day, and we got lucky again and were his last customers. This was Port's first encounter with Mickey, and despite talking about him the whole time, he was very shy when they actually met. As you will see in a minute, things improved as the trip went on. :)
Next we saw Donald! He was really excited to meet him, and even stood there alone for a picture! Still looking pretty timid though. After he walked off, he asked, "Daisy?" And he looked for her the rest of the trip. Thank goodness we met her the last day!
We left Animal Kingdom and Port took a little nap...then we went to the pool! It was pretty warm out still, and the pool was heated. Port was fearless in the water....jumping in and everything. Swim lessons are in store for him this summer! We didn't last too long there though, because it got chilly pretty quick.
Breakfast in bed while watching Mickey Mouse cartoons. Rough life.
Day 2 was Hollywood Studios! We met Buzz and Woody here.
While we waited in the Toy Story line
Then we drank a chocolate milkshake
And rode the amazing new Toy Story 3-D ride!
Day 3 we went to Magic Kingdom. Porter talked about the castle all day. We saw 2 parades, rode all the rides, and even went back to the room for a nap in the middle of the day. Great day!
That night, we had dinner at a restaurant with the Winnie the Pooh characters. Port was really warming up to characters at this point. They had a little march they did around the restaurant. I put him down to see what he'd do, and he took off in the line of kids, clapping his hands in excitement.
Piglet decided to have a seat next to Port.
And Tigger too.
Day 4 we had a character breakfast at Chef Mickey's and then went to Epcot. As you can see, Port was thrilled to meet Goofy.
And I think he totally flirted with Minnie.
And here was the icing on the cake. Smiling and hugging Mickey.
And we finally met Daisy!
This was the day we went home. We were waiting for the bus to go to the airport, and Port had a nice nap on the lobby couch.
It was such a nice trip for the 3 of us before baby boy #2 (who still remains nameless) makes his debut. And now that we're home, we are getting the nursery and Porter's big boy room in order. And also planning for a big 2nd birthday bash this weekend. Lots going on, and lots to be thankful for.
Lots of Love,
Beth
